UHC Waldkirch – St. Gallen was founded May 21st 1997 by the fusion of the UHC St.Gallen and the TSV Waldkirch. Both clubs wanted to enhance the the sport floorball in the Eastern part of Switzerland.
Today the club has more than 350 members whereof 270 are licensed by swissunihockey. For the season 2015/16 UHC Waldkirch – St. Gallen put in position 18 clubs.

Milestones

1997
Thomas Hug gets first chairman in the clubs history. Both the men and women team take part in the NLB, which is splitted into two groups.

1999:
The men first team ends the season on rank three, while the women team reach place two.

2003
After years with consequent supporting the youth academy the men are promoted to National League A. WaSa win the Best-of-Seven series with 2:1 over Basel Magic. In the same year the Cup semi-final takes place in the Kreuzbleiche. The game was attended by more than 1700 spectators.

2004
After two years in the highest league Wasa 2003/04 had to make their way in the National League B. Again, to say the opponents in the playoffs were Basel Magic. Also the women first team was not successful, they were relegated into the 1st league.
The upcoming season takes place with a renewed Board – Carlos Ruch takes over as president from Michael Litscher. And with Magnus Svensson the men’s team get a new face as well.

2006:
The WASA Women get off after two seasons in the 1. Division back into the NLB on.

2007:
Magnus Svensson’s team was able, despite many new players to stabilize and develop. After two years of development work and continuous promotion of junior he leaves the club at the end of season 2006/07. With a veritablem transfer coup of the Executive Board may undertake in the 2007/08 season the Czech International Radim Cepek as player-coach. Along with the returnees Christian Preisig, Ivo and Roman bishop, a powerful NLB troops are assembled. With 16 wins and only 2 defeats Wasa reached Promotion Playoffs.

2008:
22 March 2008 it is time again: WASA manages promotion to the National League A. More than 1,500 sports enthusiasts flock to the Athletics Center St. Gallen and see in the decisive match a well-deserved 6: 2 win against Basel Magic. Player-Coach Radim Cepek is the towering figure with three goals. The other goals were scored by Roman Wick, Fabian and Captain Haag Othmar Schärli.
The ladies among the trainers duo Monika Ledergerber and Yvonne Zgraggen are successful: They finish the season in the NLB on the 2nd place.
At the end of the 2007/2008 season, Carlos Ruch resigns as president. Mark Bürki takes over the presidency before only ad interim, at the AGM 2009, it can be officially choose the President.

2009:
The UHC Waldkirch-St.Gallen may celebrate the biggest success of his Damenabteilung. Under the direction of coach Albert Zellweger ladies win in the 08/09 season the NLB league title. In the rise Playoff against UHC courtyards they lose in the fifth and deciding game with 2: 3 and missed promotion to the NLA narrowly.

2010:
The biggest success of the club gentlemen could be realized in the year of 2010. After a surprising victory in the Cup semi-final against the series champion SV Wiler-Ersigen Messrs 2010 will reach the Cup final in Bern. The more than 500 terraces Green-Whites fans transformed the Wankdorf-Hall in the hitherto most atmospheric Cup final event. Unfortunately, the game was lost against the Tigers Langnau with 4:11.

2012:
In junior area, a large field-Swiss Championship was celebrated thanks to years of work and continuous development in the 2011/12 season, the first time in club history. The coaching duo Christian Preisig and Renato Manser led the U-16 juniors on this historic for the UHC Wasa Swiss championships. This success could be repeated in the 2012/13 season in impressive kind. The Juniors U 16 repeat their victory and allowed to call themselves Swiss champion for the second time.

2013:
Since the 2008-09 season, the UHC WASA has established with his men’s team in the National League A. To date, the team had but been denied, to qualify for the playoffs. The ladies have established themselves in the NLB.
In the junior categories U16, U18 and U21 UHC Wasa is represented in the top division, playing with the best teams from all over Switzerland for the title. The Board continues to focus on a consistent youth development and will continue to rely on their own offspring.

2014:

The first men’s team prevented the descent into the NLB in the Playout against Floorball Thurgau narrowly. The NLB women occupy the fifth place and thus miss the playoff qualification. After Markus Bürki has resigned at the end of 2013 by the president, Joe P. Stöckli is elected president. After years of various vacancies, the Management Board is complete again.

2015:

Again Messrs NLA need in the playout, but can hold up to the B-division Floorball Central Plateau in the NLA. The women occupy the fifth place as last year. The longtime ladies coach Markus giant announces his resignation. Lukas Studer and Nivin Anthony take over the team. All U-teams of UHC Wasa qualify for the playoffs.
